Senior School Sports Bulletin

Well done to all pupils taking part in the recent fixtures, plate and cup games. Some notable mentions over the past few weeks include:

  • Congratulations to the whole U16s Rugby Squad, finishing runners up in the National Bowl Final at Murrayfield on Wednesday. The entire squad represented the school incredibly well and we are all very proud of their efforts.
  • Congratulations to Girls’ 1st XI Hockey who won their Scottish Cup match beating Fettes College 3-1 and proceeding to the Semi Final. Thank you to all the supporters who attended creating an amazing atmosphere for the win!
  • Boys’ 1st XI Football defeated Fettes College 5-2 in their SISFA League Match.
  • Girls’ S2 Netball team progressed to the 3rd stage of the Scottish Schools Plate where they will face Perth High School 1’s.
  • Weekend wins from Girls’ Hockey 2nd XI/ 4thXI and S1A/ S1B against Watsons, and for Rugby wins again Morrisons Academy for U16s, S3A and S1A/B.
  • S4-6 Girls competing in Tennis LTA YR 11-13 competitions. The Girls A team won against Hutchesons Grammer School in Glasgow but lost out to a strong Watson’s side, finishing 2nd in the pool. Well done to all of the players who stepped up to represent the school for these competitions during the winter term!
  • Curling won their first fixture against St George’s School in the James Young Cup Series.
  • S4-6 Rowers took part in the Scottish School Indoor Championships and won many teams and individuals medals. At Rutherford Head, the two U16 Girls crews came second in their categories, as did the U18 girls’ crew and boys took 4th place.
  • S1-6 Cross Country team took part in East District Cross Country Championships in Stirling. Pupils performed excellently with Tim Rose narrowly missing out on selection by 2places.

  • Girls’ Hockey playing against St George’s, Boys’ 1st VI/ S2/3 Hockey playing against Glasgow Academy, and Rugby playing against George Watson’s College.
  • Boys’ U18 Basketball playing Stewart’s Melville College, and U15 Girls’ against Dunbar Grammer School.
  • S1 and S3 Football against Stewart’s Melville College and Jordanhill School.
  • On Friday East Cup Girls’ U18 Indoor Hockey Tournament at Jack Kane.
  • East Boys’ U15 Hockey Tournament at Peffermill.
