Senior School Weekly Sports Bulletin
Well done to everyone who took part in our recent fixtures and extra-curricular sports. Lot of notable mentions over the past two weeks:
- Heriot’s Senior Badminton team won the Scottish Schools’ Badminton Union Edinburgh Shield in the final against St George’s/Merchiston. Defeating both Fettes and Watson’s to get to the final.
- At Goldenacre Sevens tournament U16 VII Rugby won the Shield, beating Robert Gordon’s in the final, and U18 VII Rugby made it through the to the semifinals.
- Goldenacre Sevens Tournament Girls’ 1st VII were finalists (losing out only on running penalties), and Boys’ VII and Girls’ 2nd VII were both semi-finalists.
- Girls’ VII Hockey won the cup at the High School of Glasgow Sevens defeating Strathallan School in the final.
- Boys’ U18 VII Rugby came runners up in the plate at the High School of Glasgow Sevens Tournament.
- U18 Boys’ Basketball defeated George Watson’s College (68-63), and the U14 Boys’ played a strong game against the Red Sky Eagles with a narrow loss (35-32).
- Boys’ 1st XI Football came runner up in SISFA Cup Final, with a strong performance.
- S2/3 Boys Hockey won against Hutchesons’ Grammar School 7-2.
- Heriot’s Cross Country team competed in the final Edinburgh Schools Cross Country League, Race 9. For the league series, the Senior Boys team (S3/4) Tim Rose S4, Finlay Wilson S4, Rory Wilken S3, Lucas MacLean S3 won the Senior trophy. For the Youths (S5/6) team Thomas Milne S6, Andrew Robinson S6, David Ivory S6 and Keir Robertson S6 won the trophy. For individual results Finlay Duffin S2, Tim Rose S4, Andrew Robinson S5 won bronze medals, and Eva Cameron S5 and Thomas Milne S6 won silver medals.
- Boys’ Senior Tennis defeated Robert Gordon’s College, making it through to the second round of the National Championship.
- Girls’ VII Hockey won the Caritas Sevens Tournament, the first GHS team to win since 2002.

- Tallulah McMorris S6 and Jess Garden S5 are playing against Canada at Peffermill this weekend – for Scotland Aspiring girls.
- Zack Sangster S5 and Daniel Smith S5 are playing England, Netherlands and France this weekend in Glasgow, in the Four Nations Hockey Tournament for Scotland.
- Amy Clark S5 and Amy Edgar S5 playing in the Four Nations Hockey Tournament for Scotland in the Czech Republic.
- All taking part in House Sporting events- Save the date House Cross Country 18 April.
